The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian was the first book we read as a class. The book gives the reader a look at what it's like being, in the broadest terms possible, someone who doesn't feel like they belong. More specifically it tells the story of a Native American boy who attends a school off the reservation in the hopes that it will yield him a better life. This book is filled with humor and drama, and it all blends together into one big emotional rollercoaster of greatness.
